Split is the second-largest city of Croatia, the largest city in Dalmatia and the largest city on the Croatian coast. Diocletian's Palace is among the best preserved monuments of the Roman building heritage in the world.

So much is hidden behind the Diocletian's palace walls. It was originally built as a retirement home for one of the most influential Roman emperors, Diocletian, and is more than 1700 years old. It does not count that you have been in Split unless you stroll along the Riva harbor. The fabulous seafront promenade lined with palm trees, restaurants, and cafes all along makes you want to spend the whole day just relaxing and admiring the Adriatic sea from this point of view.
